Think Bat
Think Bat is a division of the South African Wildlife Rehabilition Center
We are volunteers with a soft spot and interest in all misunderstood wildlife. This led us to perhaps the most misunderstood of all – bats.
After meeting our first bat in 2020, we fell in love with the species and, with CEO of SAWRC Judy’s support, have since created our own bat clinic north of Pretoria.
Contribute to the conservation of bats of South Africa in a meaningful and impactful way through animal rehabilitation, education and engagement with the public.
Rescue, Rehabilitate, Release
Think Bat’s goal is to get wildlife safe and healthy and back where they belong – in the wild. We work closely with vets and other animal specialists to achieve this. Our facilities are geared towards our speciality – bats.
Educate
Misinformation, leading to fear, is the number one threat to bats. Incorrect facts and false news has created a lot of stigma around bats. The most important help we can give to these animals is through education.
Human-Bat Conflict Resolution
We want the best outcome for the people and the bats. We do this through education and also provide a consulting service as well as a bat house installation service.
